It all depends on how the vehicle is driven long idle time or short trips 25miles or less will cause more frequent regeneration. I have 3500 miles on my xd the first 1800-2000 were short commutes to work. 3 regens up to that point since then only one. I'm taking longer trips now averaging 100+ miles. G.Mine is stock and also does 80 or 90% of it's trips 10 miles or less, and a lot of those are 5 miles or less. When it goes into regen it often stays that way for multiple days of short trips. It has never given the 'keep driving' warning. It did need NOx sensors replaced and it did have the 'def level reset' issues before the fall of 2011 recall. 1551 posts ยท Joined 2012. #16 ยท Nov 4, 2014. I've been looking at my manual and it states that the DPF regeneration cycle occurs automatically every 190-560 miles. It takes 10-20 minutes if the car is driven at stable speeds of 40-70 mph. It can take longer if you drive at an average speed of 30 mph.
2- 98% DPM Reduction. If your diesel particulate is in a restorable condition, we provide our DPF cleaning service, restoring your filter back to 98% of OE specifications (using our Gold Service)! Once your diesel particulate filter has gone through our DPF regeneration process, it is restored to like new condition.
The pressure sensors in the DPF can detect soot loading if the duty cycle does not generate high enough exhaust temperatures. Therefore, active regeneration is needed. The soot in this procedure burns when it reaches around 40% to 45% of the filter because of the higher engine temperature that results from the soot accumulation.
How Often Does DPF Regeneration Occur? The frequency of the DPF regeneration process depends on how often you drive and the type of engine you have. It is recommended that a regeneration cycle be completed every 500 to 800 miles, or after 10 hours of driving. Z9uEU.
