BMW classic vehicles have a paint code placard located on the driver side strut tower. To locate, open the hood and face the rear of the vehicle. There is a narrow, rectangular placard containing the paint name (labeled in German) and just below that, the paint code. Classic paint codes typically contain 3-4 numbers.

7551 posts Β· Joined 2003. #4 Β· May 12, 2012. I did mine red for a while but didn't like them. I then powder coated them Blue which I really like, got plenty of positive comments on them all the time. I've done some M5 calipers black too, with a silver car I like blue better.
Things get complicated since there's apparently no standard way to number the pin outs (some #6 are #12 in other diagrams and so on) but the colors should remain the same for the wires. The pinout readings for photonumber #1 are the same as #2, but the colors are off. Example: Photo#1/X605 (12 pin):

Well, I've just done that by recording the colors (and sunroof option) of each E39 M5 VIN. So basically input the color of your car, color of the seats and if it has a sunroof and it will show how many BMW had produced with that combo. Note: There is one glitch with individual cars, the information is shown by the calculator will be correct but
