As far as I can tell, the reason the game was a miss for so many people is that the game itself makes no real effort to slowly get players accustomed to its world. To be fair, it does take a bit of time to figure out the best way to play the game, particularly as it relates to travel, and the gameplay itself demands some degree of patience.

FC2 definitely had the most game time in it, easily 100+ hours. Far cry 3 was the most fun IMO but a lot shorter, and once you beat it there's really no replay ability. Yes, with outposts and side missions. I wish i hadn't cleared out all the outposts before i cleared the game so their was enemy patrols more often, but their still is alot to do. This is where this game went wrong. Sure some people felt Farcry 2's enemies everywhere was to intense, but it was at least intense.
