The message should clear next time you start the engine. Getting the filters cleaned and reset at a Jaguar dealer isn't cheap, but it's really worthwhile. Dpf, diesel particulate filters became a legal requirement in order for diesel cars to meet Euro 5 specification, which was introduced throughout Europe in 2009, and so if you have a diesel car, with a factory build date after 2008, then it is almost certain that your car will have a DPF system fitted. On one hand, we need to have enough data points to make a meaningful deduction and on the other hand, we need to exclude very new cars that might skew the survey as they have very little chance of hitting DPF problems in that short time. When soot builds up inside the diesel particulate filter (DPF) to the extent where the vehicle is no longer functional, a forced regen occurs. When this happens, the vehicle must pull over and begin a self-cleaning process that can take up to 40 minutes time that could have been spent driving. Renault Captur - DPF Regen - Miniman777. Between 2015-2019 I had a Nissan Juke with the 1.5 engine + DPF, which was replaced last year with a Qashaqi with same engine. The Juke went back to the leasco at 78k miles, the Qashqai has done 10.5k in just under a year. So in 88k miles of use with the 1.5 engine, 90% has been trips of 20 to 300 miles
