It's normal rpm range is 2000 to 3500 most of the time. It has BIG bearing surfaces to allow the development of a BIG oil cushion. I prefer going by mileage, so I set my Panoram computer for a service reminder every 500 miles (I assume approx. 25mpg just to be even more conservative).
