The iPhone will connect wirelessly without using the charging pad, as far as I know BMW is the only manufacturer that has wireless Apple CarPlay too. I haven’t had any heat issues with my iPhone 11 Pro Max but the longest I’ve had it on the charger is ~90 minutes, I do use wireless charging 95% of the time at home though without issue. Mine stopped all of a sudden stopped working yesterday and I’ve tried everything to get it to repair with no luck. I have a 2024 X5. Mine did same thing. No idea. I am wondering if the 2024 model can mirror the CarPlay navigation into the drivers display screen. I thought I saw a video somewhere that mentions it can.
